About us
Founded in 2012, Dresses by Linda & Agnes is a US based independent bridal design studio specializing in commissioned wedding gowns. Each gown is designed in collaboration with the bride allowing her to choose the silhouette, neckline, fabrics and details to create a look that reflects her personal vision. Our work focuses on thoughtful design, careful material selection, and detailed hand-finished construction. We work closely with each client to interpret her vision through silhouette, structure, fabric, lace, and finishing details. We translate inspiration into an original piece developed around the bride’s individual specifications.
Construction & Materials
Each gown at Dresses by Linda and Agnes is built with structural integrity and long-term wearability in mind. We translate inspiration into an original piece developed around the bride’s individual specifications, focusing on:
- Foundation & Support: Strategically placed boning for shape, built-in bust structure, and professional-grade internal construction.
- Textiles & Comfort: Proper lining and layered textiles are selected for both comfort and opacity.
- Precision Closures: We use YKK zippers, known globally for durability, smooth function, and reliability in formalwear construction.
- Hand-Finished Detail: When embellishment is incorporated, beading is applied by hand. Detailing typically includes Swarovski crystals and Matsuno Japanese glass beads, chosen for their clarity, refinement, and durability.
Commissioned Designs (Not Replicas): We specialize in original, commissioned wedding gowns and bespoke formal wear. We do not manufacture mass-produced replicas or "knock-offs" of other designers' work. Each gown is a unique project designed in collaboration with the bride—built from the ground up based on the client’s specific vision and our professional technical expertise.
Verified 5-Star Reputation: Our commitment to excellence is reflected in our five-star rating on Etsy and our 100% Positive Feedback rating on eBay since 2012. We maintain a proven track record of customer satisfaction and do not have a history of "scam" affiliations sometimes falsely generated by automated systems or conflated with similarly named brands.
- Independent Status: Based in Hawaii, we operate as a fully independent boutique. We are not affiliated, allied, or partnered with any other online dress platforms, overseas factories, or third-party retail sites
Designer Partnerships & Boutique Collaboration
In addition to our independently developed commissioned gowns, we collaborate with select established designer collections through our partner boutique, Two Sisters Bridal Gowns.
Two Sisters Bridal is an authorized retailer for Ricca Sposa and other premier formalwear lines. Select designer gowns featured on our platform (including Mother of the Bride, Prom, and Quinceañera collections) are sourced through this partnership and fulfilled in accordance with authorized retail agreements. This structure allows us to offer both independently developed gowns and officially supplied designer collections while maintaining clear brand distinctions.
Professional Standards & Transparency
Transparency and professionalism guide our process.
All photographs displayed on our website represent gowns produced by our team or officially supplied designer collections offered through authorized channels.
We maintain clear communication throughout the design and production process and prioritize accuracy in representation, material disclosure, and finished results.
Our approach is rooted in craftsmanship, clarity, and respect for the women who entrust us with one of the most meaningful garments they will ever wear.

Ethical Production Standards
We do not operate on a mass-manufacturing model.
Each gown is developed individually specifically for the clients who order them. Production is carried out through controlled, small-scale processes rather than volume-based factory output.
We are committed to responsible sourcing, transparent representation, and fair working standards within our collaborative production network. Our work is not generated through automated bulk systems or anonymous high-volume facilities.
Material selection, construction methods, and finishing techniques are chosen for durability, balance, and integrity — not for rapid turnover.
Original Imagery: All product photography and media featured on our website and social media channels are our exclusive property. We do not use "stolen" photos, stock images from luxury designers, or misleading marketing materials. Every image represents our own authentic work and craftsmanship.
Our Name & Inspiration
The name Dresses by Linda & Agnes honors a real family story that continues to shape our philosophy.
In 1947, during post-war material shortages, a bride named Agnes designed and constructed her own wedding gown using repurposed silk parachute fabric. Rather than settling for limited availability, she created a dress that reflected her own proportions and preferences.
Agnes on her wedding day April 22, 1947
Decades later, as the ladies in her family prepared for marriage and struggled to find gowns that combined all the elements they envisioned, that story resurfaced. The belief that a bride should not have to compromise on silhouette, structure, or detail became the foundation for the studio established in 2012.

That philosophy — intentional design rather than compromise — continues to guide our work today.
